The parts that decide longevity
- Subgrade and base. Compaction verified across the whole lot, with extra attention over utility trenches.
- Joint layout. Panels sized so shrinkage cracks land in joints, aligned with light poles, islands and drains.
- Drainage. Positive slope to inlets. Ponding plus Reno freeze-thaw plus de-icers is what shortens surface life.
- Accessibility. ADA stalls, access aisles and route slopes built to spec and verified.

Repair and rehabilitation of existing lots
Not every failing lot needs full removal. Panel replacement, joint resealing and localized repair can extend a lot's life significantly when the base is intact. Where the base has failed or panels are rocking under traffic, replacement of those sections is the only durable answer — the logic is the same as in repair versus replacement.
